And most projectors now days come with settings that can be toggled depending on the screen aspect ratio necessary to make the image fit all the screen surface.

Normally the rule of thumb goes like this:

If the projector screen is for a residence then the recommended screen is a fixed screen with aspect ratio 16:9.

And, when the installation of the projector screen is for business the recommended screen ratio, is 16:10

Since most laptops and mobile devices use this format.
